First stepped out of the vault, smelled that radioactive air, I thought to myself "What happened here?" so I wander to springfield where in the school I got beaten up by raiders D:

Stepping out of the vault, and onto the overlook was a pretty defining moment for me.

Knowing how different the game was from the first two Fallout games I played as a kid, I was a complete stranger to a world I already knew. I grew up playing Fallout 1 and 2. When Fallout 3 came out, I was pretty well versed in the Wasteland's lore already, but still had no knowledge of this new world at all. I was pretty much a stranger to the whole game. The moment the sun glared through my computer screen, I realized that this would not be Fallout as I knew it, but a brand new kind of game altogether.
It took me a while to get to Megaton. I was walking around for quite a while, exploring the new world around me. I fought the creatures and raiders. The whole wasteland was against me. I thought to myself how strange it was; How can a place be so dead, and yet so full of life at the same time? When I play a game, I tend to become my character. My character's actions are what I would do if I was living that life. I essentially grew up in that vault just as my character did. I remember my first words as I saw the outside world for the first time: "Wow."

I was awestruck at the look of DC, bethesda did a good job of showing the ruined, but beautiful landscape/city that is the DC wasteland

I was drawn into the Atmosphere immediatley. Since it was my first RPG I didn't realise where to go, so I headed North all the way up to the River where I was killed by some raiders near a burnt house. Luckily I didn't save cause thats when I relaiseed there was an arrow and a compass on the bottom left hand side of the screen !

I was just wondering what it looked like I loved the exit like that one part of the game had actual effects in the environment and soothing music to fit the wasteland I felt like I want to go out there and destroy megaton.
