Probably something simple, but for my skill sets involving modifications, an enormous obstacle.

Simply, what i want to do is to move certain aspects of a weapon nif - in this case, a scope - to another weapon nif (using Nifskope), and then being able to use the new weapon in my game.

my recent attempts haven't worked - i know how to move parts, but i realize there is a bit more involved than just moving components. Yet, keep in mind, i'm certainly no modder, i've zero knowledge of what it takes to put such models together (so understandably, i have an ENORMOUS appreciation for modders on this - dazzerfong quickly comes to mind - and other sites) and i'm only doing this to tweak the visual weapon elements of my game...

its the "man, this weapon would look much better with this scope on it than the one it was made with" mindset that's fuelling this request.

i'm hoping it's not too complicated, but if it is, then i will leave things be, and leave such things to the pros...so no worries either way!

and while i'm here...what Is the best way to give kudos on this site?

First, you would most likely use NifSkope as the primary program for this. To begin, open the file in NifSkope, and in the 3D view, click on the scope. Now, on the left, a tab would be selected. Right click that tab, then click 'Copy'. Open the file you want your scope to be on, then right click (on the most left part of the screen), the BSFadeNode, then 'Paste'. If the files crash on loading in GECK or the game, you'll need to do the 'other way':

    1. Open the file you want your weapon to have an extra part on (I'll call this weapon Destination for clarity)
    2. Copy ANY part of the weapon like above, except repaste it on the BSFadeNode of that weapon, so you duplicated it.
    3. Go to your scope, and on the left tab, there would be a highlighted NiTriStrips.
    4. Next to such NiTriStrips, click on the '+' next to it, and copy (right click- Copy) its NiTriStripsData.
    5. Go back to the Destination, then select back that duplicate part.
    6. Right click that part's NiTriStrips, then select 'Paste Over'.

Then you're done! If you need help, anything short of telling me to create an entirely new gun for you, just post it here and I'll see what's wrong. See? Modding isn't that hard! Modelling, however.........(still easy, just time-consuming)

Kudos are given with the green arrow and taken with the red arrow.

My Humble appreciation as always, Dazzerfong...your guidelines worked wonderfully. Geck took the change, its saved, although it wont let me right click to review it from the weapon listing...i'm going to chalk that to a possible texture glitch(?)

for now, i will let that be, ive heavy weapons to make packless for my overly patched game =)

What do you mean it doesn't let you right-click for review change? If the model didn't update, it's most likely because the weapon had a First-person model attached to it. If it's red, don't worry about it, that's normal for most textures. If it's showing a strange texture, same problem as the first one I mentioned,
