[Possible Downtime] Luckily not!

The Goal has been reached, you helped me a lot there and I thank all of you deeply, who donated! If you want to be named in the news as Donators, please send me a PM and I will create a list of those who donated and want to be named.

Dear VGUNians,

I have to announce a possible downtime, which will, if it happens, take effect in the following days.

So far, the targeted goal of donations has not been reached and I got several letters from here and there (Server Provider, Bank), that I need to pay several bills until the end of the month and balance out my Bank Account.

[Donations] It's this time...again.

Dear VGUnians,

it's this time again, where I ask the Community for helping me with maintaining the Forums financial-wise. I do not know where this high activity on the forums is coming form lately (Skyrim? New Vegas? Fallout 3? All of them?!), but this is really getting derp.

I therefor ask the Community again, if you can help us with a part of the expenses.

Any amount of money is welcomed and hopefully will bring is closer to the goal.

You can donate, as stated in the (annoying) top bar, either using the small siderbar block on the right (forum index) or via the link from the top bar (or open your account control panel and go to Client Area).

[IMPORTANT] Maintenance Downtime coming up!

Dear VGUnians,

We will shut down the Forums for an important maintenance at around:

11 AM PST/12 PM MST/1 PM CST/2 PM EST/8 PM GMT

and the maintenance can take up to 24 hours.

We will upgrade the entire Forum Suite, will do Database Cleanups and File Cleanups. We will, as usual, keep you updated via Twitter.

[Donations?] It's this time again...

Dear VGUnians,

Christmas has been a money-begging time, we managed to break our record in Traffic Usage (from ~2.5 TB to 5+ TB) and sadly only a few people subscribed so far. Skyrims release had, and still has, a bad impact on the Google Adsense Earnings as well.

Right now I am pretty much hanging behind with payments due to several reasons, where I can loan money from my Bank since December, but that's not a good option and I only use it if I really have to (like right now to keep VGU up and running).

I ask for your support to help me cover up the payments.

[Project] We are looking for people

Dear VGUnians, dear Visitors.

We just launched a Game Project and are looking for people in all required departments, which include:

Coding
Modeling
Animation
UVMapping and Unwrapping
Texturing
Sound
Music
etcetera pp.

You should be able to work in a Team and understand, what it means, to work in a collaborative way.

It currently is a non-paid offering.

A bit about the Project:

"Smorgasbord" (an inside joke for the Project) is a Submarine MMO settled in the far Future. Humanity made Earth's
Surface uninhabitable after several wars. Now humanity is forced to live a life under water.
A new Era begins and we will see, where it leads us.

Short description of features:

Project "Smorgasbord" will be a Submarine MMO, as described above, where the Player will be able to control his own Submarine,
from small to large, build up his own Empire or create his own Pirate Army. Whatever you do, will have an impact on the world.
Will you be a Trader, a Smuggler, a Researcher or even a Leader?
The choice is yours to make and shape your part of this world to your desire.

If you want to get a better insight, check YouTube for 2 games called: Schleichfahrt (English Title: Archimedian Dynasty) and Aquanox.

Project "Smorgasbord" is powered by the HeroEngine, which also powers Star Wars: The Old Republic.

Registration is back to "normal"

Dear VGUnians,

A database flaw, which we haven't noticed until today, forced you to select a subscription package if you want to register. (for some users)

This was not intended to happen and we fixed that.

We do not charge money to join VGUNetwork and we are really sorry to those, who wanted to register but got offended but this.

Now registering is back to "normal" again (no selection of subscription required).

[Website Development] Upcoming changes to the F...

Dear VGUnians,

We will restructure the entire forum in the coming weeks to reflect the motto of our community: "Video Game Underground Network".

That means, that we will get more categories, divide the current forums into different categories and clean up the main index of the forum. The top navigation (at the very top) will get new navigation panels for each category, so that you can quick-navigate around.

I will open a Developer Blog in the coming days or weeks to give you more insights into what I am up to. It might also happen, that we will have downtimes again, so that we can work on the stuff without members interrupting us or without us interrupting the members.

I cannot tell you when our new Design goes live, but we are still working on it and it will take time to get it finished, since it is a commercial design we bought as a base of operations, which is for Wordpress and not for IP.Board. Therefor we have to port it to IP.Board + Addons, theme everything properly and get things sorted out. This might take weeks, maybe even months.

A live preview, when the time has come, will be available for Subscribers.
